Moisés Canelas has been reunited with the heavenly Father, where he will dwell in peace and joy, on September 13th, 2024. Throughout his career, he was known under the pseudonym Moisés Canelo. His soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics captivated audiences internationally and served as comfort to countless fans. Moisés was more than just a world-renowned singer; he was a loving father, husband, brother, and friend. His infectious laughter, unwavering optimism, and compassionate spirit filled our lives with joy and warmth. He is survived by his wife Jemima and his adoring children, Alejandro, Ashley, Destiny, Max, Sabrina, and Sylvia.
He was born on July 9, 1949, in the small village of Francia, located within Limón Honduras. His early years were spent singing in the banana fields of Coyoles Central, a testament to his natural talent and passion for music. As a teenager seeking to supplement his income through his musical pursuits, Moises joined the renowned Banda Los Robbin's of La Ceiba, alongside his childhood friend Ricardo Pereira. Later, he became a member of the Happy Boy's group in Tela. His talents led to invitations for musical tours, including his inaugural international tour to the United States.
Beyond his musical accomplishments, Moisés was a dedicated philanthropist and community advocate. He used his platform to raise awareness for important social issues and supported various charitable causes.
Moisés Canelo's passing is a profound loss for the music world and Honduras as a whole. His music will continue to inspire and entertain future generations. He will be remembered as a true legend and a beloved figure who enriched the lives of countless people.
