Julia Mendez

Julia Mendez, 90 of Newark, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at her home. Born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, Julia was the daughter of the late Pedro Serrano and Fermina Flores. She is survived by her children, Carmen J. Castro and her husband William Castro, George Mendez Jr. and his wife Ada Mendez and Manuel Mendez.  She also leaves 10 loving grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many dear brothers and sisters, as well as many devoted nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 13 from 5-8pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church, Newark on Thursday, January 14 at 10am followed by burial at Rosehill Cemetery in Linden.

Please be aware of the current regulation by the health department, wear a face mask, limit your time in the chapel to allowed other people to pay their respects, wear a facemask and as possible abstain from hugging.
